Taylor Swift tops Spotify’s list of most streamed artistes

Taylor Swift’s Lover (2019) is in eighth place on Spotify’s list of Most Streamed Albums of All Time.

American pop star Taylor Swift has unsurprisingly topped Spotify’s inaugural list of Most Streamed Artists of All Time.
Swift, 36, is followed by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny and Canadian rapper Drake. Canadian singer The Weeknd and American actress-singer Ariana Grande round out the top five.
British singer Ed Sheeran, Canadian singer Justin Bieber, American singer Billie Eilish as well as American rappers Eminem and Kanye West are in the sixth through 10th positions respectively.
Other musicians in the top 20 include American rapper Travis Scott (11th), South Korean boy band BTS (12th), American singer Bruno Mars (14th), Barbadian singer Rihanna (16th) and British rock band Coldplay (17th).
Spotify said in a statement on April 23 that its various most-streamed lists were released for the first time to mark its 20th anniversary.
The lists are drawn from years of listening by hundreds of millions of fans, with the data reflecting global Spotify streams as at April.
Bad Bunny, 32, tops Spotify’s list of Most Streamed Albums of All Time with Un Verano Sin Ti (A Summer Without You, 2022). Another album by the rapper, YHLQMDLG (2020), is in 15th position.
The Weeknd has two albums in the top five: Starboy (2016) in second place and After Hours (2020) in fifth. The other album, Beauty Behind The Madness (2015), is ranked 20th.
Sheeran’s Divide (Deluxe, 2017) is in third place, while American singer Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour (2021) is fourth.
Other albums in the top 10 include American singer SZA’s SOS (2022) in sixth, Swift’s Lover (2019) in eighth and Eilish’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019) in 10th.
The Weeknd tops Spotify’s list of Most Streamed Songs of All Time with Blinding Lights (2019), while Sheeran’s Shape Of You (2017) is in second place.
American alternative rock band The Neighbourhood’s Sweater Weather (2012) is in third place, while The Starboy (2016), performed by The Weeknd and featuring French electronic duo Daft Punk, is fourth.
British singer Harry Styles’ As It Was (2022) makes up the top five.
