SINGAPORE – Taiwanese boy band Energy are making their grand comeback in Singapore after more than 20 years.
The group, formed in 2002 and known for hit songs like angsty break-up anthem Let Go (2002), will bring their Imminent tour to the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Nov 23. Ticket prices range from $168 to $328, and general sales begin on Aug 29 at 10am via Ticketmaster.
There will be two rounds of pre-sales. Mastercard cardholders will enjoy a priority sale from Aug 26, 10am, to Aug 28, 8am, and have preferred ticket access to some of the best seats in the house when general sales open.
Singtel customers will enjoy a pre-sale on Aug 28, from 10am to midnight.
Energy’s Singapore stop follows sold-out concerts held in Taipei after a long hiatus for the quintet. The group, comprising members Toro, Milk, Edy, Kunda and Shuwei, gained popularity in the Mandopop scene with their rap and dance tracks like Invincible (2003), and were one of the top Taiwanese boy bands alongside groups like F4 and 5566.
But after Toro left in 2003 and Milk departed in 2005, Energy slipped in popularity and went on hiatus in 2009, with the members focusing on various individual pursuits, including activities outside of entertainment.
In April 2023, the five of them showed up as guest performers at Taiwanese rock band Mayday’s concert in Kaohsiung and their reunion was a success with fans.
In January, Mayday’s record label B’in Music announced it had signed Energy, which released new music like the ballad Reunite.
They played two sold-out concerts at Taipei Arena in July and will follow that up with two more nights at the Kaohsiung Arena before coming to Singapore, the only overseas stop they have announced so far.
