SINGAPORE – The decade-long wait for fans of Stefanie Sun will be over soon.
The home-grown singer will stage her Aut Nihilo Sun Yanzi In Concert tour in 2025, with the first stop held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 5 and 6.
Ticket prices range from $148 to $328, with general sales commencing on Oct 30 at 10am via Ticketmaster.
There will be a few rounds of pre-sales, beginning with first-priority ticket access for KrisFlyer members on Oct 28 from 10am to 11.59pm.
Eligible UOB card members qualify for another pre-sale on Oct 29 from 10am to noon, while all UOB card members qualify for a pre-sale on Oct 29 from 1 to 11.59pm.
Sun, 46, who does not update her social media platforms frequently, dropped the first hint of the tour on Oct 14.
In a one-minute video she posted, she is seen running through grassland. The last frame shows the words “Sun Yanzi In Concert” and “Aut Nihilo”, which means “or out of nothing” in Latin.
The Mandopop queen released more information on her concert tour on Oct 15, disclosing that it will kick off in Singapore in April.
Other stops announced were Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Nanjing, Chongqing, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia, with more venues to be unveiled.
Her last concert tour, Kepler, which ran from 2014 to 2015, included a stop at Singapore’s National Stadium on July 5, 2014.
The 2025 tour will mark Sun’s 25th anniversary in show business. She rose to fame in 2000 after launching her self-titled debut album, Yan Zi, which earned her Taiwan’s Golden Melody Award for Best New Artiste.
She had originally planned to embark on a concert tour in 2020 to mark two decades in the industry, but the Covid-19 pandemic derailed it.
The Chinese name of her 2025 tour, Jiuzai Riluo Yihou, can be translated as “just after sunset”.
Meanwhile, the Chinese name of her aborted 2020 tour was “Jiuzai Riluo Yiqian”, which translates to “just before sunset”. It comes from the first line of her 2019 single, Eternal Love, which goes: “Just before sunset/We will meet again.”
Referring to the tours, Sun wrote on social media on Oct 15: “We could not meet before the sunset, so let’s hold a beautiful celebration after the sunset.”
