SINGAPORE - In the early 2000s, home-grown band Electrico rose from plying the indie scene to mainstream prominence, scoring No. 1 radio hits and playing major festivals.

Shortly after writing and performing the National Day Parade theme song in 2009, the band went silent, save for sporadic gigs.
