English pop singer Jessie J took to Instagram on June 4 to reveal that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, and that she will undergo surgery after her scheduled performance at London music festival Capital’s Summertime Ball on June 15.

Wearing a black tank top and a cap, she said in a video that she had deliberated if she should make her condition public.

“I want to share it with my fans and the people who care about me – and also I’m a sharer. I’ve always shared everything that I go through in my life.

“I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse – that’s the bit that kills me.”

The 37-year-old celebrity coach from reality TV singing competitions like The Voice UK (2012 to 2013) and The Voice Australia (2015 to 2016) added: “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery and I will come back with massive t*** and more music.”

In the comments section of her post, English singer-actress Rita Ora, 34, expressed her support. “My mother had it and I know the surgery and any treatment on this matter are mentally tough, so I’m here for you.”

Jessie J, known for hit songs like Price Tag (2011) and Bang Bang (2014), had said that she was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in April 2024.

Since 2021, she has been in a relationship with Danish-Israeli professional basketball player Chanan Colman, 41. She suffered a miscarriage in 2021, but welcomed their first child, a boy, in May 2023.
