Singapore’s got talent: Director Nelicia Low feels ‘lucky to be Singaporean’

Former national fencer Nelicia Low won the Crystal Globe award for Best Director for her feature film debut Pierce at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

SINGAPORE – Nelicia Low knew she wanted to be a film-maker since she was seven – and the award-winning director has the 1995 Disney animated movie Pocahontas to thank.
“I watched it so many times. The message about choosing your path and being true to yourself, something about it really spoke to me,” the 33-year-old tells The Straits Times.
