Expect acrobatics, fire spinning, juggling and more at this 90-minute live circus extravaganza. Organised by the Circus Academy of Singapore, which offers classes in circus arts, it is billed as the largest local circus show in terms of scale, with a team of 50 behind it, including a largely Singaporean cast.

The family-friendly event will also feature performances involving handstands, contortions, aerial hoop and straps, as well as a Cyr wheel, together with dance and live music.

It is directed and produced by Beverly Wan, a full-time acrobatic performer and coach, who co-founded Circus Academy of Singapore in 2021, and serves as its managing director. In a press statement, she said: “Singapore is a melting pot of unique cultures and home to a diverse world of talents. We want to play our part and transform possibility into reality for even more local artistes.”

Jane Zhang Light World Tour In Singapore

Chinese singer Jane Zhang will be back in the Lion City for her second solo concert on Dec 21, after performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2012.

It has been over a decade, but Jane Zhang will finally be back to perform in the Lion City as part of her Light World Tour, which has travelled to various cities across China from 2023 to 2024 and was also held in Sydney and Auckland.

The Chinese singer’s first and only solo show here took place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in 2012.

She has released her sixth album The Seventh Sense (2014), featuring the ballad Finally Wait Till You, as well as the English-language album Past Progressive (2019), containing the R&B number Dust My Shoulders Off.

Early in her career, Zhang was known for heartbreaking love songs such as A Promise (2007), but she has also released more upbeat tracks like Could That Be Love? (2009). She is known for Painted Heart (2008), a theme song of the 2008 Chinese supernatural fantasy film Painted Skin, which has folk music influences.

1 Degree Off Live Music Showcase

Local R&B singer Soph T. will be performing at the 1 Degree Off Live Music Showcase.

Local event organiser 1 Degree Off’s latest gig features three female artistes for a night of girl power.

First up is Singaporean R&B singer Soph T. with her soulful melodies and unique vocals. The winner of music talent search show SingVoice in 2021 released the single Not Over U in 2022, which showcased her knack for catchy melodic hooks and metaphorical lyrics. Among Spotify’s Radar artistes of 2022, she puts out music focusing on themes such as love, independence and self-discovery.

Next is Tingzhi Hz, known for her commanding stage presence and emotionally charged performances. The Singaporean singer-songwriter released a number of rock ballads like Ignite The Fire (2022), as well as uptempo tracks such as Live! Regrets Behind (2022).

Rounding out the night is Malaysian singer-songwriter Clarissa Hema, whose work includes 444+1 (2024), a dreamy track whose title is inspired by “angel numbers”, or number sequences that convey messages from a spiritual universe.
