Esplanade Presents – Mosaic Music Series: Dianne Reeves With John Beasley, Romero Lubambo, Reuben Rogers & Terreon Gully

Hailed as “jazz’s greatest living vocalist” by SFJAZZ Center in California, American singer Dianne Reeves will be back in Singapore for a concert.

In a career dating back close to five decades, she has won five Grammy awards, all in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category, including for her 2013 album Beautiful Life.

The versatile vocalist’s repertoire also covers genres including R&B, blues, gospel, Latin and pop.

The United States’ National Endowment for the Arts has designated her as a Jazz Master, the highest honour bestowed upon jazz artistes in the country.

She has also received honorary doctorates from acclaimed music schools Berklee College of Music and The Juilliard School.

Her concert here is part of the Esplanade’s Mosaic Music Series and will feature her band, comprising pianist John Beasley, guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Terreon Gully.

Reeves performed at the Esplanade under the Mosaic banner in 2005 and 2009.

Crossfire: Tenxi x MK K-Clique x lucidrari – Live In Concert

Malaysian rapper, singer, songwriter and actor MK K-Clique will be in Singapore for the Crossfire hip-hop show.

A leading figure in the Malaysian hip-hop scene, MK K-Clique leads this triple-bill hip-hop show celebrating talent from Singapore’s nearest neighbours.

The concert also features Tenxi from Indonesia and lucidrari from Malaysia.

MK K-Clique is best known as a member of Sabah hip-hop crew K-Clique, who have scored mainstream hits such as Mimpi (Dream, 2019) and Beg 2 Back (2019).

In recent years, he has made his name as an actor in Malaysian television drama series such as The Hotel (2021) and films like romantic comedy Bunga Dan Kayu (Flower And Wood, 2022).

Tenxi is one of the artistes from Indonesia who popularised hip-dut, an amalgamation of hip-hop and dangdut – a genre of Indonesian folk music – which has gone viral on social media in recent times.

Lucidrari came to fame in recent years through releases like Chronosphere, his 2023 album which topped Spotify Malaysia’s albums chart.

Home-grown R&B and city pop artiste Yao is one of the acts performing at the Supersonic.mp3 gig.

*Scape, the space dedicated to youth in the heart of Orchard Road, will come alive with a gig that is part of the X *Scape festival.

Titled Supersonic.mp3, the show features rising indie acts from Singapore and Malaysia.

Co-presented by home-grown record label, production studio Parka and *Scape, the line-up includes home-grown acts such as R&B and city pop singer-songwriter Yao and pop singer-songwriter Icebox, as well as Malaysian indie-pop band Resort.

Other acts include Out The Middle!, a collective of R&B, hip-hop and soul musicians from Malaysia, and home-grown singer-songwriter lovlaine.

Besides the gig, X *Scape will also feature activities such as graffiti jams, craft workshops, dance performances, immersive art, DJ sets, rap battles, urban sports, street parades and more over the weekend of Nov 8 and 9 at *Scape.
