LOS ANGELES – Cardi B is expecting a child with her American football player-boyfriend Stefon Diggs, following weeks of rumours.
The American rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, confirmed the news in an interview with CBS on Sept 17, telling the television outlet: “I’m excited. I’m happy.”
Cardi B, 32, and Diggs, 31, announced they were dating earlier in 2025. It came months after she had split from her husband, American rapper Offset, 33, in 2024.
She is currently promoting her new album Am I The Drama, which will be released on Sept 19.
“I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work,” she said in the CBS interview. “But I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby, me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other.”
On Sept 2, Cardi B was cleared of assault in a US$24 million (S$30 million) civil trial, in which she was accused of slashing a woman’s face with her fingernails.
“Two weeks ago, I was literally having a panic attack. I was crying and crying and crying, just because I was getting really nervous with, you know, the whole album roll-out,” she said.
The Bodak Yellow (2017) artiste has three children with Offset – seven-year-old daughter Kulture, four-year-old son Wave and one-year-old daughter Blossom, who was born after the couple separated.
Diggs, a wide receiver for National Football League team New England Patriots, has an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. AFP
