SINGAPORE – Mr Amri Amin, music director of home-grown Malay orchestra Orkestra Melayu Singapura (OMS), remembers a time when keroncong music was the popular music of its day in Singapore.

“Back in the 1970s, you could hear it on the radio,” he recalls fondly.
