Who: Taiwan-based Singaporean singer-songwriter Qiu Fengze, who celebrates a decade in show business since the release of his debut album Ten Storeys (2014).
Since then, he has found success beyond Singapore’s shores as the lead singer of Taiwan boy band W0LF(S), alongside four other members he met on Taiwanese variety show 100% Entertainment. The quintet held their maiden concert in Singapore at The Star Theatre in 2022.
Qiu, 35, is back home as part of a solo tour that features him performing across Asia, to commemorate his milestone and musical journey. The 10th Year Anniversary Fancon concert will take place at The Theatre at Mediacorp on Aug 10 at 7pm, and tickets priced from $100 are available from Sistic.
He has also launched his Fengme merchandise pop-up store at the ground floor of *Scape, which will run till Aug 21.
“I like nature, so going to the beach with my friends would be a nice outing from early morning to late evening. I enjoy the sun, water and sand. The beach can be a very fun but also calming place – the two that come to mind are (in) Brisbane and Bali.
In my line of work, we are always stuck indoors, so these beach outings are rare. It’s also something we did when we were kids, so there is a sense of nostalgia.
A nature lover, Qiu Fengze enjoys days out at the beach.

We will do some activities like kayaking, banana boating or volleyball. A bit of exercise is great. I prefer volleyball because there is a lot of teamwork and teasing involved, whereas with kayaking, there are only two people in the kayak. It is tough to run on the sand, but I like the challenge and it is good for your feet as well.
I am afraid of scuba-diving though. I have a fear of deep water. I enjoy watching other people scuba-dive, but for me, it is a bit scary to try.
Afterwards, we will usually go to the beach bars. Singapore has quite a few good ones, including Tanjong Beach Club. I like to try different cocktails, but mojitos and beers are refreshing in the afternoon. If it is night-time, then maybe I’ll have wine with a nice seafood dinner.
I’d be exhausted the next day, so I will stay in. I am an introvert, so I recharge more just by being home.”
