The musical comedy drama Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist has an unusual protagonist: a woman who can hear people's thoughts and feelings as Broadway-style songs.
But as whimsical as it is, the new show was inspired by creator Austin Winsberg's family tragedy - his father developing a brain disorder that left him unable to move or speak in the final months of his life.
