Awie Solitario Journey
Malaysian rock singer Awie will be back in Singapore for a solo show.
The 55-year-old, best known as the frontman of rock veterans Wings, will showcase a set list that runs through three decades of music from his solo career.
His discography includes his self-titled debut solo album released in 1994, as well as his fifth album, Santai (Relaxed, 2005). He released his latest single, Cerita Rindu (A Story Of Longing), in May, a song from the soundtrack of action flick Rebel: Berontak Untuk Berotak (Rebel For Brains, 2024), which he directed.
Awie last performed at the same venue, The Star Theatre, with Wings in July 2023. In 2022, they were the first act from South-east Asia to perform at the Singapore Grand Prix’s biggest stage at the Padang.

Annual music festival Ignite!, organised by students of Republic Polytechnic, returns for its 16th edition.
Like in previous years, the two-day festival brings together a multi-genre line-up of home-grown music acts.
Among the performers in 2024 is Republic Polytechnic alumnus Benjamin Kheng, singer of this year’s National Day Parade theme song Not Alone.
He performs on the first night, which also features singer-songwriter Shazza and shoegaze/dream-pop outfit Motifs.
Singaporean singer, songwriter and producer Shye – one of the artistes who took part in idol survival series Chuang Asia in Thailand earlier in 2024 – will perform on the second night.
Other performers on the same night include singer-songwriter Josh Makazo, whose viral song Half Of My Heart (2023) made him one of the most popular Singaporean artistes on TikTok in 2023; and Subsonic Eye, the home-grown indie-pop band that toured the United States and Philippines earlier in 2024.
