SINGAPORE - The pain of feeling separate from the community is part of any immigrant story, says actor Steven Yeun. In the drama Minari, a family moves from South Korea to California, before buying a farm in rural Arkansas.
It mirrors his own family's story and he was able to draw on his experience - especially on not fitting in - to play the father, Jacob.
