SINGAPORE – K-pop stars Daesung, Kiss Of Life and Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi are among the new artistes unveiled to be performing in Singapore for the three-day Yuewen Music Festival.

The event will take place at Siloso Beach, Sentosa on Dec 28, 29 and 31.

In the latest line-up announcement, K-pop boy band BigBang’s vocalist Daesung is set to take the stage on Dec 29, on the same day as Chinese hip-hop artiste MaSiWei.

K-pop girl groups like Itzy, Red Velvet’s sub-unit Irene & Seulgi (who previously released songs like Monster and Naughty in 2020 as a sub-unit) and popular rookies Kiss Of Life will all appear on Dec 28.

Previously announced artistes in the festival’s line-up include How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (2024) Thai star Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul, Mandopop singer Lala Hsu and Japanese diva Mika Nakashima.

Billkin will perform on Dec 28, the first day of the festival, alongside his I Told Sunset About You (2020) co-star, singer-actor PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn. Also appearing that day are Hsu, Taiwanese singer Maggie Chiang, deejay Tech1 and singer-songwriter Olivia Marsh, the elder sister of K-pop girl group NewJeans’ Danielle.

The second day on Dec 29 will feature Nakashima, a singer-actress known for playing the punk rocker Nana in the 2005 movie of the same name. While she has had a career spanning more than 20 years, she has never held a concert in Singapore. Her hits include 2003’s Yuki No Hana (Snowflake) and 2013’s Boku Ga Shinou To Omotta No Wa (When I Wanted To Die).

Besides beach side parties, musicians will also take the stage in the heart of the city.

Marina Bay Sands’ live concert series Sands Live Season kicks off with Chinese singer Jane Zhang’s concert on Dec 21, with Hong Kong pop duo Twins on Dec 28 and 29, and Singaporean brothers Lee Shih Shiong and Lee Wai Shiong on Dec 31.

Zhang is known for songs such as Unrivalled, the theme song for the Chinese wuxia period series The Return Of The Condor Heroes (2006), and Painted Heart, theme song to the 2008 supernatural period movie Painted Skin.

Twins, comprising Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung, are known for numbers like Love Bigger Than The Sky (2001). Both Choi and Chung have enjoyed a career resurgence in recent years, as both appeared on the third season of the survival reality show Sisters Who Make Waves in 2022.
