SEOUL – The singers behind Huntrix, the fictional K-pop girl group comprising Rumi, Mira and Zoey from Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters, are among the celebrities who will grace the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Korean-American trio Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami will bring their voices to the annual holiday kick-off, to be held in New York on Nov 27 from 8.30am.
The parade is a beloved event in New York City organised by American department store chain Macy’s.
It will be the second time the three women will bring Huntrix’s sound to life, following their live performance of the hit single Golden on American talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Oct 8.
The roster of stars set to perform in the street parade includes Ciara, Foreigner, Lil Jon and Kool & The Gang.
In addition, KPop Demon Hunters characters like the wide-eyed, fluffy Derpy Tiger and six-eyed magpie Sussie will join the parade’s line-up as a mid-sized balloon and “balloonicle”, a combination balloon and vehicle.
More KPop Demon Hunters cast members are set to make public appearances.
Korean-American actress Arden Cho and Korean-Canadian actor Ahn Hyo-seop – the voice actors behind Rumi and male lead Jinu – are among the star-studded list of presenters at the 2025 Mama Awards, the world’s biggest K-pop festival.
To be held at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on Nov 28 and 29, the two-day event boasts performances from some of the biggest K-pop acts.
Day 1 will feature Enhypen, Super Junior, Babymonster and I-dle, while Stray Kids, G-Dragon and Cortis take the stage on Day 2.
K-idol Park Bo-gum will be the host on the first day, while actress Kim Hye-soo take over presenting duties on the second day.
The 2025 Mama Awards will be live-streamed on HBO Max on both days. THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
