SINGAPORE – K-pop idol Kai from boy band EXO will perform here in June as part of his first in-person solo concert tour Kaion.

He will stage his Kaion In Singapore concert at The Star Theatre on June 21 at 7.30pm.

Ticket prices range from $148 to $288, with general sales commencing on April 8 at noon via Ticketmaster. The pre-sale will take place on April 7 between noon and 11.59pm via the same ticketing platform.

Registration for the EXO-L Membership (GL) Pre-Sale (Weverse) will run between March 26 at 1pm and March 28 at 1pm via Weverse.

Other stops on the tour – which kicked off in Seoul on May 17 – are Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Jakarta, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Yokohama and Hong Kong.

Kai, 31, completed his mandatory military service as a social service agent on Feb 10. One of the most popular members of EXO, which made their debut in 2012, he is set to release his fourth EP in April.

The singer, whose real name is Kim Jong-in, launched a successful solo career in 2020 with the EP Kai. He will also be the new host of South Korean web variety show Changing Majors 6, which premieres on March 20.

Meanwhile, American cover band Boyce Avenue are set to perform in Singapore on April 19. They will bring their nostalgic covers and reimaginings of popular songs to Ho Bee Auditorium at the National University of Singapore.

The band consist of brothers Daniel Manzano, 44; Fabian Manzano, 40; and Alejandro Manzano, 38. They will be supported by opening act Daniel Sid, a Singaporean multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and producer who straddles pop, R&B and soul.

Tickets for the show are on sale now via Ticketmaster, with prices starting at $98.

The concert will mark the band’s first show here since Boyce Avenue Live In Singapore in 2018 at The Star Theatre.

Boyce Avenue gave a shout-out to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in a Facebook post on March 4.

“Hi Singapore, we’re coming back to town. We’ve heard you’re celebrating your 60th birthday soon – and we’re excited to see you all in April,” the band wrote. “We also heard that your Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, is a great guitarist. Mr Prime Minister, if you would like to join us on stage or collaborate backstage on April 19, let us know.”

Boyce Avenue, which hail from Florida, have garnered a global fan base since they began posting their covers on YouTube in 2007.

The Manzano brothers’ YouTube channel has more than 16.8 million subscribers. The band have recorded their own material on albums such as All We Have Left (2010) and Road Less Traveled (2016).
