SINGAPORE – Fans of K-stars Lee Min-ho and Ahn Hyo-seop can get a chance to meet them in person on July 29, as the duo will be in town for the Singapore premiere of their fantasy action thriller movie Omniscent Reader: The Prophecy.

Singapore is the only international promotional stop outside of South Korea.

There are 300 tickets to the gala premiere, to be held at GVmax in GV VivoCity, up for grabs. Priced at $55 (for Golden Village Movie Club members) and $60 (for non-members), they will go on sale on July 21 from 3pm via GV sales channels.

Lee and Ahn will greet fans in the cinema before the 8.30pm screening, and they will be joined by the movie’s director Kim Byung-woo.

Opening in Singapore cinemas on July 31 and rated NC16, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy is told from the point of view of Kim Dok-ja (Ahn), an office worker who is a devoted reader of a web novel called Three Ways To Survive The Apocalypse.

After sending an angry text to its author for the terrible ending, Dok-ja suddenly finds himself in the world of the novel that is doomed for destruction.

Banking on his knowledge of the storyline, he teams up with its characters, including the hero Yu Jung-hyeok (Lee), to fight for survival, writing a new ending along the way.

Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy marks 30-year-old Ahn’s feature film debut. Recently in the spotlight for voicing boy band leader Jinu in the hit Netflix animated movie KPop Demon Hunters, the Canadian actor is best known for his roles in K-dramas such as Doctor Romantic 2 and 3 (2020 to 2023), Lovers Of The Red Sky (2021) and Business Proposal (2022).

Lee, 38, a household name in Asia and one of the most followed South Korean actors on Instagram, made his mark through hit K-dramas such as Boys Over Flowers (2009), The Heirs (2013) and The King: Eternal Monarch (2020). He also starred in the US series Pachinko (2022 to 2024).

Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy’s other cast members include Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, singer Nana, child actor Kwon Eun-seong and K-pop girl group Blackpink’s Jisoo.

The 30 billion won (S$28 million) production is one of the most anticipated South Korean films of 2025. It is based on the South Korean web novel Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint created by duo singNsong, which has garnered more than 2.5 billion views worldwide across its web novel and web comic adaptations.

The original web novel concluded in February 2020 and has continued to expand its universe with an ongoing epilogue series since February 2023.

The webtoon adaptation, published in 2020, is currently available in 10 languages, including English, Japanese and French.
