HBO Max, premiering on Feb 14

How many can brag that they have their hair done by a top K-star?

Residents of a rural village in Muju, located in South Korea’s North Jeolla province, had the privilege of getting their hair cut, dyed and styled by actor-singer Park Bo-gum.

At the pop-up salon, customers also got manicure services and were treated to snacks by Park and his actor friends Lee Sang-yi and Kwak Dong-yeon.

Park and Kwak co-starred in the breakout period drama Love In the Moonlight (2016), while Lee bonded with Park on the set of action drama Good Boy (2025).

Park holds a national barber’s licence that he obtained while serving his military service in 2022, and is said to have cut the hair of soldiers.

To prepare for the show, the A-list actor attempted to obtain the national cosmetologist certification, or the beautician licence, to style women’s hair. However, he admitted to having failed the practical test, as he was “too slow”.

The heart-warming reality series follows the trio as they build meaningful relationships with the villagers. Their services also extend beyond the salon, with the actors helping out with farm chores.

Bake Your Dream is an ambitious survivor series where 72 elite bakers – from renowned South Korean bakers to world-class international pastry chefs – gather to compete for the title of best baker. The sole winner gets to take home 100 million won (S$87,000) cash, a new electric sport utility vehicle and the opportunity to create his or her baking brand.

Rather than traditional elimination rounds, each challenge in the competition asks contestants to showcase their creativity or a specific skill. For instance, they are challenged to create a signature bread that represents their philosophy and technical skills.

Hosted by actress Lee Da-hee of Single’s Inferno (2021 to present) fame, Bake Your Dream’s notable judges include Culinary Class Wars Season 1 winner Kwon Seong-jun, better known as Napoli Matfia, and K-pop girl group Oh My Girl’s Mimi.
