KUALA LUMPUR – A woman gave birth to a baby outside Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil Stadium, where Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou was holding his concert.

According to Malaysian media, quoting posts on China’s social media platform Xiaohongshu, the woman suddenly had labour pains as she was waiting outside the venue on the evening of Oct 26.

In the video, a crowd was seen cheering for the mother, with some shouting that the baby had been born. It also showed a woman being stretchered into an ambulance.

Some netizens marvelled at the mother for going to the concert even though she was heavily pregnant.

Others suggested she name her baby Jielun (Chou’s Chinese name) if the newborn was a boy, or Kunling (the Chinese name of Chou’s wife Hannah Quinlivan) if it was a girl.

The Jay Chou concert is part of his Carnival World Tour, which had stops at Singapore’s National Stadium on Oct 11, 12 and 13. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
