SINGAPORE – Veteran local radio DJ Glenn Ong’s latest social media post on Sept 30 has sparked talk that he is dating Jonica Lazo, an actress from the Philippines.
In the post, the 55-year-old Kiss92 presenter welcomed Lazo, 25, to Singapore and included a photo of themselves with his arm around her at a “great weekend party” at local wine outlet Harvest & Cellar. Other photos in the same post showed him having drinks with her and a group of friends at the same place.
When asked by The Straits Times if they were dating, Ong said he would “neither admit nor deny” it.
Lazo was in town to attend the Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2025 that took place from Oct 3 to 5, and has family here.
Ong later confirmed to The New Paper (TNP) in an article published on Oct 5 that they are dating but their relationship is not exclusive and that he has no plans for marriage.
“I feel like, for me, the moment I get married, it becomes a bit unsexy,” he said. “But as long as I’m not married, I can be in a relationship for like maybe a decade or more or whatever. I still feel like it’s a bit sexier than if I got married, and I’m calling my other half wife.”
Ong also addressed their 30-year age gap in the interview.
He said: “Why not? If a girl who is 25 years old and me kind of vibe, and we go out, I’m completely fine with that. If you put any guy in my shoes, or if those who criticise me were in my situation, they’d love it, right?
“I don’t date 25-year-old women often, and 25 is the lowest age I would date.”
According to Filipino online tabloid Hataw! D’yaryo ng Bayan, Lazo was 23 years old in February 2024 and is a graduate of UST Angelicum College in Quezon City, the Philippines.
Her IMDb page lists her roles in several recent films such as horror movie Isolated (2025) and drama She Means Business (2025). She also appeared in 12 episodes of raunchy comedy television series Wow Mani (2025).
Her Instagram account, which has 168,000 followers, includes posts of her in Singapore, like one dated Sept 24 featuring her frolicking in a bikini at Siloso Beach Resort. She has 109,000 followers on Facebook and 41,200 followers on TikTok.
Ong hosts The Big Show With Glenn, Angel & Tim on SPH Radio’s Kiss92 together with Angelique Teo and Tim Oh, who joined the team in mid-September.
Ong was married for eight years to fellow local radio DJ Jean Danker, 47, a host and presenter on Mediacorp’s Class 95. The former couple, who had no children, announced their split in December 2024
It was Ong’s third marriage, following his previous two with the late Kate Reyes and Jamie Yeo, both former radio DJs.
In June, he posted on social media that he used to be “unhappily married”
