LOS ANGELES - In the movie Antlers, a teacher in a small town discovers a quiet boy at her school is hiding a terrifying creature at his house.
And the monster conjured up by the film-makers - horror maestro Guillermo del Toro and director Scott Cooper - is based on the chilling Native American legend of the wendigo, a deer-like evil spirit that possesses people and turns them into bloodthirsty beasts.
