SINGAPORE – Feasting and fun with her fans were on Hong Kong diva Joey Yung’s mind during her recent trip to Singapore. The 45-year-old singer was in town for the second day of

the Bubbling & Boiling Music and Arts Festival

Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa on Sept 14.

She wrote on Instagram on Sept 15: “Thank you for the great time. Bak kut teh.” She also posted photos of herself staring at a spread of local dishes, including bak kut teh, as well as of chendol and nasi lemak. Other images showed her backstage at the music festival, during her performance and her fans.

The frequent visitor to Singapore has been performing here every year since 2023, with a solo concert at Marina Bay Sands in 2023 and a 40-minute set at One Love Asia Festival Singapore 2024 at the Padang.

One of her celebrity pals, Scottie Hui, the son of Hong Kong singer Sam Hui, commented on her post: “Wah. We just missed your show then (because) we were just there doing one too.”

Sam Hui, 77, billed as the “God of Cantopop”, held a concert at The Star Theatre on Sept 12.

Meanwhile, Yung has been keeping a busy schedule. She took the stage at the Guochao Xingdong Concert in Dalian, China, on Aug 3 and at the International Hot Air Balloon Fest in Hong Kong on Sept 4. She was also a guest performer at Chinese singer Bibi Zhou’s concert in Shanghai on Sept 6.
