Hong Kong actress Nancy Wu surprised fans on Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on Oct 6 in 2025, by announcing that she is married.

Posting several wedding photos with Hong Kong-based surgeon Akin Chan on social media, the 44-year-old wrote: “Akin & Nancy. 03.10.2025.”

She uploaded more wedding snaps in another post later in the day, writing in Chinese: “Heaven has been kind to me as I found you at the right moment.”

According to Hong Kong media, the wedding photos were taken in New Zealand.

Wu was congratulated by dozens of her celebrity pals, including actor Joel Chan, as well as actresses Elaine Yiu, Priscilla Wong and Rosina Lam.

One of Hong Kong broadcaster TVB’s top female stars, Wu has starred in several TVB dramas such as A Fist Within Four Walls (2016), Deep In The Realm Of Conscience (2018) and Narcotics Heroes (2023).

The award-winning actress had previously dated Hong Kong singer Deep Ng, Hong Kong actor Kenneth Ma and Mr Patt Sham, who is not from the entertainment industry. Her last relationship, with Hong Kong music producer Terry Chan, ended in 2016.

In November 2024, she revealed during a media interview that she was in a relationship without revealing who her boyfriend was.

She went public with the relationship during Yuanxiao Festival on Feb 12, when she posted on social media a photo with her boyfriend on a snowboarding trip. His face was hidden behind a helmet and sunglasses in the picture, and the couple were seen in silhouette in a video clip.

Hong Kong magazine Eastweek reported in March that Wu was seeing Akin Chan, who is about the same age as her and has served with international humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders since 2012.

Asked by the Hong Kong media in late September if marriage was on the cards, she replied: “It’s all part of the process – doing the right thing at the right moment.”
