Jimmy O. Yang is scheduled to perform in Singapore on Nov 24 as part of comedy festival Just For Laughs.

SINGAPORE – Comedy festival Just For Laughs will make its debut in Singapore from Nov 24 to Dec 15, featuring stand-up performers such as Jimmy O. Yang, Jason Cheny, Eddie Izzard and John Bishop.
Founded in 1983 in Montreal, Canada, Just For Laughs is one of the largest comedy festivals in the world, with international editions in Montreal, London, Vancouver and Sydney.
Yang, 38, will hold the Singapore leg of his Big & Tall Tour at The Star Theatre on Nov 24 as part of the festival, which will take place at various venues.
The Hong Kong-born American actor-comedian took to his social media pages on Sept 3 to promote his show.
“I’m coming to Singapore and Malaysia for my first stand-up shows ever, Nov 23 and 24,” he said on Facebook and Instagram. He will perform in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 23.
Yang voiced the titular character in Netflix animated fantasy comedy The Monkey King (2023) and starred in American action-comedy series Interior Chinatown (2024).
He was scheduled to hold a stand-up show in Singapore in December 2022, but it was cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
Taiwanese-American funnyman Cheny and British actress-comedienne Izzard will hold their shows at Mediacorp Theatre on Nov 29 and Dec 13 respectively, while British presenter-comedian Bishop’s 25 Years Of Standup will be staged at Capitol Theatre on Dec 15.
There will also be an All-Star Gala at Esplanade Theatre on Nov 26, featuring Cheny, Jamie Wang, Brian Tseng, Jason Leong, Douglas Lim, Norah Yang and Vivek Mahbubani.
