China overtook the United States to become the world's largest movie market last year amid disruptions caused by the pandemic.
The Middle Kingdom has continued to perform strongly, with movie ticket sales in China already exceeding 40 billion yuan (S$8.38 billion) this year, or double last year's total sales, Chinese ticketing platform Maoyan announced this month.
