Celebrity couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban separate after 19 years of marriage

Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and singer-guitarist Keith Urban have split up after 19 years of marriage.
American entertainment website TMZ, quoting multiple sources, reported on Sept 29 that the Australian-American celebrity couple have been living apart “since the beginning of summer” and that Kidman does not want the separation. The cause of their split is unclear.
Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, wed in June 2006 and have two daughters aged 14 and 17. The pair met at a gala in January 2005.
TMZ reported that Kidman has been taking care of the girls and that Urban has moved out of the family home in Nashville, despite her efforts to salvage their marriage.
The country performer has reportedly acquired his own house, which is also in the capital of the American state of Tennessee.
The Babygirl (2024) star posted photos of herself spending the summer with their children on social media on Aug 19, writing: “Summer memories. Now back to school.”
Kidman won the Best Actress Academy Award for psychological period drama The Hours (2002). She marked the couple’s 19th wedding anniversary when she uploaded on social media on June 25 a photo of them together.
“Happy Anniversary Baby,” she wrote. Urban replied with a red heart emoji.
Urban’s last social media post of them together was on May 9. It was a clip of them in a car after attending the Academy of Country Music Awards.
“Triple Crown,” he wrote, referring to the special award he received at the ceremony. “It was a surreal feeling and truly humbling honour to be recognised at the @acmawards last night.”
The couple were last seen in public together in June at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup match between Los Angeles Football Club and Tunisian club Esperance de Tunis in Nashville on June 20.
A month later, E! News reported on July 25 that Kidman had applied to become a resident of Portugal, with no other name listed on the form.
A source with knowledge of the situation told the US entertainment news portal then that Urban was unable to attend the appointment in the European country in person as he was on tour in the US.
Urban’s High and Alive World Tour kicked off in Alabama on May 22 and he will next perform in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Oct 2.
Kidman was previously married to Hollywood star Tom Cruise, 63, between 1990 and 2001, and they share two adopted children, aged 30 and 32. This was Urban’s first marriage.
