SINGAPORE - Despite the afternoon drizzle on Nov 28, fans of K-pop girl group Blackpink turned up early in pink ribbons and hammer-shaped lightsticks to soak up the atmosphere before their idols’ concert.
The quartet - comprising Lisa, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo - are slated to take the stage at 7pm on Nov 28, 29 and 30 as part of their Deadline world tour.

Hours before doors to the first of three shows at the National Stadium opened at 5pm, Blinks were already decked out in their pink-and-black finest around the premises - taking photos, buying merchandise and admiring one another’s outfits.

Among them were Singaporean content creator Rurusama, who will be watching her first Blackpink concert.
The 26-year-old, who is looking forward to the members’ solo tracks like Jennie’s Like Jennie (2025) and Rose’s Apt. (2024), said: “I look to them for beauty and fashion inspiration. I like Jennie because she is sexy, charismatic and has a very strong aura. I also like Lisa, who is very playful, has a cute personality, and dances really well.”
Chinese tourist Raymond Zhao wore a midriff-baring outfit inspired by the Anthony Vaccarello tuxedo which Rose donned at the Met Gala in May. The ensemble took him 30 minutes to put together, including adorning his bag with a Labubu plushie, which Lisa helped make famous in 2024.
The 22-year-old visual merchandiser said: “My favourite member is Rose, because she is cool, stylish and carefree, which is quite similar to my personality too.”

Despite having already caught two of Blackpink’s concerts in South Korea’s Goyang Stadium in July, he cannot get enough of the girls, and will be attending the Singapore shows on Nov 28 and 29.
“I would have wanted to watch all three shows, but my schedule did not allow it.” Asked what he would say to Blackpink if he had a chance, he replied: “Take a selfie with me. It is my dream.”

Malaysian make-up artist Sandara Liaw, 35, arrived with her husband, events organiser SQ Kiew, 36, and their daughters Sora, six, and Somi, four.
Ms Liaw designed the girls’ get-ups, and got them tailor-made. Sora’s red bodysuit was similar to Jennie’s styling in her Like Jennie music video, while Somi’s yellow attire took inspiration from Lisa’s costume during one of her live performances of Rockstar (2024).

Although the married couple attended Blackpink’s 2023 concert at the National Stadium as part of their Born Pink world tour, this is their first time watching it with their kids.
“During the last tour, my children were too young to come. But this time it’s okay,” Ms Liaw said. “I love Blackpink’s music, and my kids also took to it. They love dancing along to the catchy songs. The members are also good role models - they are confident and not afraid to be themselves.”
Indonesian Dwi Masrifah, who lives in Batam, decided to forgo Blackpink’s gigs in Jakarta on Nov 1 and 2 and come for the Singapore ones instead.

The 26-year-old front office worker said: “Although there was a show in Indonesia, it was so far from where I live. To get to Jakarta, I have to take a flight. But to come to Singapore, I just need to take an hour-long ferry.”
