SINGAPORE – Local actress-host Nurul Aini launched her clothing line, Solulu Closet, on Feb 28, and the first collection sold out in 70 minutes.

The 42-year-old, who is 1.72m tall, said on Solulu Closet’s website that the label is for tall women like her.

“I started this clothing line because I got tired of choosing between ‘modest’ and ‘fits properly’ – why not both?” she wrote. “Here, you’ll find stylish, modest pieces that celebrate your height without compromising on comfort or confidence.”

Her husband, real estate agent Sofian Roslan, shared a behind-the-scenes video of her launch on Instagram on Feb 28.

“The passion and dedication she’s poured into starting her own clothing line – the countless hours, the effort and the challenges she’s overcome to make this a reality. And today is finally the day,” the 42-year-old wrote.

“I couldn’t be prouder of you for making this happen all on your own. As you would have done for me, you have my fullest support in everything you do.”

Nurul said in the video, which began filming 10 minutes before the online launch, that she was nervous, excited and worried about the response to her clothing line.

“What if there are only two check-outs?” asked the star of local action drama Third Rail (2022).

Her first order came exactly at noon, the time of the launch, with all the items sold out by 1.10pm.

“I’m so grateful and I want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone,” said an emotional Nurul, as her husband hugged her at the end of the video.

“I’m so passionate about it and I’m so happy to get this kind of response. Thank you.”

Solulu said on social media on March 3 that it is restocking the sold-out pieces and will release a new item on March 4.
