American actor Zac Efron says he is in good health after he was reportedly taken to hospital following a swimming pool incident in Spain.
The 36-year-old shared on Instagram Stories on Aug 4 a photo of himself lying shirtless on an exercise ball while lifting dumbbells, with the caption: “Happy and healthy, thanks for the well wishes.”
Celebrity news website TMZ first reported on Aug 3 that Efron was taken to hospital on the night of Aug 2 after a “minor swimming incident” at a villa in the Spanish island of Ibiza.
Efron’s representative told TMZ it was a precautionary measure, without disclosing what happened to him in the pool.
However, TMZ quoted sources saying that Efron was pulled out of a swimming pool after he was found there by two people working at the villa.
The High School Musical (2006 to 2008) and The Greatest Showman (2017) star was reportedly discharged from hospital on the morning of Aug 3.
Efron is on vacation in Europe after completing the promotional tour for the Netflix movie A Family Affair, which co-stars Australian actress Nicole Kidman and American actress Joey King.
On Aug 1, he was seen dancing on stage with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix during the latter’s performance at Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel, according to a TikTok video.
The actor was also spotted in Paris and Saint-Tropez in France, and Mykonos in Greece, in the past month.
