LOS ANGELES - There were times in the making of the Oscar-nominated drama Sound Of Metal that actor Riz Ahmed questioned director Darius Marder's methods - and sanity.

The film, which opens in Singapore on April 1, is the moving story of a heavy-metal drummer whose world turns upside down when he loses his hearing.
