SINGAPORE - Thirty years ago, a newspaper branded four popular Hong Kong male singers as "Heavenly Kings" - and the label stuck.

Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok and Leon Lai were individual artistes - not a band or musical group - but Oriental Daily News anointed them the Four Heavenly Kings of Cantopop, owing to their throngs of ardent fans.
