SEOUL – Jisoo of South Korean girl group Blackpink debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time as a solo artist.
Her single Eyes Closed, featuring British singer-songwriter Zayn, hit the main songs chart at No. 72.
“It earns Jisoo her first career solo entry on the chart,” the publication wrote on social media on Oct 21. “She previously charted 10 songs as a member of Blackpink. All four members of Blackpink have now charted solo songs on the Hot 100.”
Her collaboration with Zayn, formerly of One Direction, hit Britain’s Official Singles Top 100 at No. 37, her highest spot for a solo effort, one rung above her first entry on the chart, Flower, released in 2023.
Meanwhile, Blackpink will perform three days of shows in Bangkok from Oct 24 to 26, carrying on the Deadline world tour. The group are currently preparing a new album, slated to roll out in December.
The popular girl group, which also include Lisa, Jennie and Rose, have been active for almost a decade. THE KOREA HERALD/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
