SINGAPORE - Amid the tumult of 2020, many turned to reading books for escape and solace.

A survey by Toronto-based digital reading company Rakuten Kobo found that Kobo users in Singapore spent more than 10,400 days reading this year - the equivalent of 28 years. They clocked 270 per cent more reading minutes than last year, with May - during the circuit breaker period - being the month that people read the most.
