SINGAPORE – Whoever thinks pop fans are the most avid have not seen literary fans in action. That was my wry thought following the recent kerfuffle at the R.F. Kuang book signing
The Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) opened with all guns blazing on Nov 7 and the biggest star in the firmament was surely Kuang. Avid fans crowded her book-signing event on Nov 8 and there was unhappiness over the disorganisation, which led to some pushing and shoving. Organisers learnt a painful lesson and the session on Nov 9 went more smoothly.
