SINGAPORE - The Pasir Panjang Power Station boasts a 4m-high roof. In the opening production for this year's Singapore International Festival of Arts (Sifa), the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) will be perched in separate sections on a tiered stage that takes advantage of this vertical space.

Conductor Yeh Tsung, 72, is excited by this unusual staging.
