The troupe, led by managing director Yaziz Hassan and artistic director Riduan Zalani, is dedicated to the art of Malay percussion and its music is full of vibrant energy and earthy enthusiasm. 

This latest concert will feature music from its new studio album Kito & Kita, which is inspired by the musical heritage of the Nusantara region, incorporating instruments such as the gamelan.

Graffiti workshops

Graffiti Crash Course.

Ong Sor Fern recommends: For an unconventional date that will produce a memorable souvenir, check out Art Outreach’s graffiti workshops.

Held in conjunction with its annual Off The Wall: Letter/Forms exhibition, these workshops happen right in the middle of rooms where art is being created by artists. 

The Graffiti Sketch Workshop is an hour-long session under the tutelage of a street artist, who will teach the basics of graffiti lettering. By the end of the session, participants will have created a personalised alphabet. 

If you are more ambitious, look out for the Graffiti Crash Course on Oct 11, where you can learn the basics of spray-painting. Participants will take home their own graffiti work at the end of the session.

It is written and directed by Krish Natarajan and is the perfect activity to go along with a partner or a friend. Those looking to splurge can upgrade to a VIP experience, where there are special clues and hidden quests.
