SINGAPORE – Even though she was feeling under the weather, Singaporean opera soprano Shimona Rose Thevathasan clinched the Pendine International Voice of the Future award at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales on July 6.
Over a Zoom call from her flat in London, the 29-year-old tells The Straits Times: “I’m amazed that I could sing, to be honest.”
