HONG KONG – Leading auction house Christie’s opened its swanky four-floor Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong’s The Henderson on Sept 20, ahead of its inaugural blockbuster season that it hopes will break records.

The 10-year lease on the 50,000 sq ft space in the prime Central district is a major affirmation of the city as Asia’s auction hub. Christie’s chief executive Guillaume Cerutti said in his opening speech that the Hong Kong space operates “at the same level” as Christie’s flagship spaces in New York, London and Paris.
