Who: Ms Bernice Yeoh, who is in her 50s, is the executive director of the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration, which was established in 2004 to provide advice relating to disputes in maritime issues. These cover the area of re-fuelling, boat charters, commercial contracts in commodities shipping and offshore oil and gas matters.

Before her appointment in 2022, Ms Yeoh spent 16 years in the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, where she was senior director of strategy and policy. She wants to develop Singapore into a centre for international maritime arbitration. In 2024, Singapore’s port handled 41.12 million shipping containers – an all-time high.
