Who: Tan Pin Pin, 55, is one of Singapore’s most celebrated documentary film-makers. Her 2006 work, Singapore GaGa, was the first home-grown documentary to get a theatrical release. She was one of two Singaporean directors elected into America’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2018. Walk Walk, her latest work, is an installation commissioned by the Singapore Art Museum. Comprising a 27-minute film and two word sculptures, this is on at the Kampong Bahru bus terminal till February. 

“I’m in the middle of production for a new work, so I’m dipping in and out of books related to the art-making process. I read them to find succour in this challenging phase of production.
