Who: Nikesh Mehta, 47, is the British High Commissioner to Singapore. He took up the post in July, and was previously the United Kingdom’s director for policy and requirements in the national security community.

Preferring to go by Nik, he has worked in Iraq, Uganda, Malaysia and South Korea. His achievements span the gamut from reporting on the 20-year conflict between the Ugandan government and the Lord’s Resistance Army to brokering an agreement on climate action between K-pop girl group Blackpink and the British government.
