Shifted Perspectives

Get up close with Formula One McLaren racing driver Lando Norris at a three-dimensional perception-shifting sculpture at 39+ Art Space gallery.

A collaboration with Singapore finance platform Airwallex, it is a chance for fans of Norris to enjoy a photo opportunity and the spirit of Formula One without fighting the crowds or outdoor heat at the Singapore Grand Prix.

The sculpture of the 24-year-old British-Belgian athlete is created by American visual artist Michael Murphy, a pioneer in the perceptual art movement. Using multidimensional techniques, Murphy turns flat images into 3D works that slowly become apparent when viewed from the proper angle. Aligning with the collaboration, the sculpture alternates between Norris’ face and the Airwallex logo as viewers move around the space.

Inner Child

Thai digital artist Kolahon will be having his first solo exhibition, titled Inner Child, in Singapore.

PHOTO: THE OMAKASE SHOW

Thai digital artist Kolahon launches his first solo exhibition, Inner Child, in Singapore at Omakase Gallery, in collaboration with art platform The Omakase Show and culture collective Co-Museum.

Best known for his work in the Web3 space – the idea for a new version of the internet that includes token-based economics and decentralisation – Kolahon is guided by his mantra of “attempting to reinvent oneself in a chaotic world”.

In addition to seven new works and other private collections on showcase at the exhibition, Kolahon also created his largest work to date on a 2m-by-2m canvas. The work will be sold as a limited series of 100 fractionalised non-fungible tokens created by Co-Museum. Buyers will receive a smaller physical copy of the artwork made available at a later date, with an accompanying number and unique embellishment by the artist.

Visitors to the gallery will be able to enjoy a playlist and food from a bespoke menu that combine elements from the artist’s childhood and inspirations. Attendees can also take part in the artistic process of drawing on the walls of an empty room, where a finished Kolahon artwork sits.
