SINGAPORE – The Affordable Art Fair reported record-breaking sales of $5.3 million and 22,000 visitors for its latest edition.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary in Singapore,

the three-day event ran at the F1 Pit Building from Nov 8 to 10.

Sales in 2024 topped

2023’s $5 million

with more than 2,000 artworks sold compared with 1,850 in 2023. The number of visitors jumped 40 per cent from 2023.

These numbers reflect year-on-year growth for the fair, which has built a reputation since its first edition in 2010 for accessibility and affordability.

Its healthy numbers are a bright spot in an otherwise slow-moving art market in Singapore in 2024, which has seen

some art pieces failing to sell at the high end of auction estimates.

The fair shared statistical breakdowns which reflected its success as an easy entry point for first-time art buyers.

In a statement, the fair said it saw a growth in first-time engagement with 46 per cent of visitors attending the fair for the first time, of which 21 per cent purchased art. Overall, 24 per cent of visitors bought art, up from 18 per cent in 2023.

Fair director Alan Koh added in the statement: “The fair has always been about community, connection and bringing art into everyday life. This year’s success reaffirms our mission and drives us to envision even more impactful editions in the future.”
