Tweak free-parking policy at parks

It is good that the Government is looking at extending the new two-hour free-parking policy to carparks at various parks ("2-hour free parking may be extended"; Jan 30).

However, the free hours are only from 6.30am to 8.30am.

Since there has been a push to get more Singaporeans to exercise more regularly, why not provide a two-hour grace period at any time, instead of a fixed free-parking period in the morning?

This way, people will not be rushing to take advantage of the free parking from 6.30am to 8.30am and cause traffic congestion.

This will encourage more people to explore the parks islandwide.
