Train disruption: Recovery leaves much to be desired

The disruption of train services on Tuesday cost me time and money.

Though I managed to squeeze aboard a free shuttle bus, all other connecting buses to where I live were not free thereafter. Besides, I was lost after I alighted from the free bus service, and finally managed to get a cab home.

It was chaotic at Jurong East MRT station. Because we had alighted at an unfamiliar place, we did not know which bus service to take. Bigger signs should have been in place to show the destinations of the buses.

The best option is to offer bus services that follow the destination of the train routes. For example, if we alight from a disrupted train service at Jurong East MRT station, the free shuttle bus should let us alight accordingly at the MRT stations along the train line: Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak, Choa Chu Kang, Yew Tee, and so on.

Also, each train station would not have been so chaotic if we can make use of our country's public siren system to make a public announcement. With this announcement, all of us can make alternative plans from where we set off.
