Long wait for bus to JB

On a weekend about two weeks ago, my friend and I decided to go to Johor Baru, and went to the Woodlands Bus Interchange to wait for SMRT bus service 950.

The queue was exceedingly long that morning, with more than 50 passengers waiting. The bus arrivals were also few and far between.

The first two buses to arrive were quickly filled up. My friend and I decided to wait for the third bus so we could get a seat. Altogether, we spent 45 minutes in the queue.

We are aware that it is not practical for SMRT to deploy bendy buses or double-decker buses because of space constraints at the basement bus interchange at the Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine complex.

Hence, it is apparent that the only solution is to increase the number of bus trips to and from JB.

Indeed, SMRT should seriously improve its bus scheduling by deploying more buses to cater to the strong demand of commuters visiting JB on weekends and public holidays.
