This National Day, all commuters were given free rides on public transport.
I, along with my peers, thoroughly enjoyed the free rides. This was, by far, the most genuine and practical gesture of showing appreciation for all Singaporeans' contributions over the past half century.
Many cheers to the Land Transport Authority and train and bus operators for providing this service.
I certainly hope that the authorities will include this as an integral component of our National Day celebrations every year.
