The Singapore Exchange (SGX) should question those counters that have been suspended for too long and get them to provide regular updates to the investing community.
The SGX should also probe them and require them to give significant timelines for on-going discussions, developments and so on.
For example, recently, New Silkroutes was halted, then suspended. It has been about two months now and investors do not know what is going on or when trading will resume.
Other counters have been suspended for much longer; years even.
It is not healthy for an exchange like the SGX to have so many suspended counters.
The Securities Investors Association of Singapore should also question the companies concerned, and perhaps arrange a meeting between the companies and the investors to brief on things like progress and problems.
