Children behaving dangerously in vehicles

Every time the school holidays begin, there will be a spike in the number of parents engaging in risky driving behaviour.

While the parents are driving, children can be seen standing or moving around in the back seat, or seated but without seat belts on.

Occasionally, children are seen standing in the front passenger seat, or even sitting in the driver's lap.

Should we wait for someone to get injured or killed before taking common sense safety precautions?

Police motorcycles and cars, both marked and unmarked, should not be looking out only for speedsters and drivers using mobile phones.
